Sorry haven't touched base lately, with 2 under 2 and Christmas coming I am very busy. No reason I know, also have not done much, but I have done some!! On friday I did 50 and today I did 50 so 100 more to add to my total. Although I have a dilemma now because I thought I was doing good core muscle work and my MD said that it just works on the pretty ones in front - I need other exercises to work all my core muscles as well as some for my back. Since my back is what started to motivate me as it has been sore for pretty much 3yrs. So I will have to look into this some more and maybe switch my "crunches" for something else...will keep you posted. In the mean time I am still doing crunches. Happy holidays to all. See you soon!

I know I am not blogging every day as I always say time just runs out. Who doesn't need 36 hours in a 24 hour day to get everything done. Wow time is flying by. In the mean time I am trying to work on the situps and I have done 100 more, thirty yesterday and 70 the day before (it was more I just lost count at 70 and think thats a good place to stay!). So here is 100 more to add to my total. Count down to Christmas day is done - are you ready??? Maybe you don't celebrate and in that case happy...winter to all, and may it be full of...snow?? Its so hard to say everyday I am doing this...but it really should happen no excuses!! I haven't for a couple of days so today I thought I should so I did. Again only 50 but its what I can bear right now. Yesterday I worked for a couple hours...oh how so nice to get my feet wet again. Almost can't wait to go back because it leaves my head in a better place. Anyway running total is 2270 wish me more luck!!

All right. So busy week, I have been getting out to the mall with the kiddos to do some walking and probably too much heavy lifting after my surgery as I am supposed to take it easy on the lifting for 6wks, hmmm. Well I managed to do crunches today, not yesterday but today i got it done. I am still only doing 50 just to get me back up and running. Life gets to be sooo busy. Between getting the kiddos out everyday, the lovely snow, and daily chores it becomes hard to find time to carve out for myself. Well I managed just a little over the last couple days as I was able to complete 50 crunches yesterday and 50 today - although today I had "help". So my total is 2170 and I am looking forward for tomorrow. Take care out there.

Wow last published Sept 17 - well glad to be back. Today I made an effort to get back on track. Much has happened while I have been away. I ended up having more gall bladder attacks and saw a surgeon and had my gall bladder removed all in the matter of 4 ot 6 weeks. I also went on a business trip with work. Such a busy time. Today is 14days since I have had my surgery and so I thought I am challenging myself today why not do some situps as well! So I did. However due to the surgery and the fact I have been pushing myself farther than what the doctors say I should I took it easy, the number you wonder is 50. I know you are thinking 50 come on, but let me tell you what else has happened lately. Merv is out of town hunting and I am home alone with my kiddos. As per the doctors I am not supposed to lift anything heavy for a couple of weeks and nothing really heavy for 6 weeks. Along with those instructions I was told by the nurse who took out my staples that exercise is good but in moderation...so I am out of volleyball for 6 weeks. After that I see my surgeon and she will let me know from there. Today is a mini blizzard where I am and I still took out the kids (had to because I had enough formula for today only, and tomorrow is supposed to be just as nice out). I have shovelled - even though that is darn heavy and carried in both kids. As soon as I figure out how I may put on some pics of the cuties. Can not believe D.D. is over 2 and Little Man is 7mths. Where does the time go? Anyways hope your still following and keeping tabs on those totals. Oh yeah you can add 0 to Mervs total...haha. Good luck with that!!

Sorry I have been a bad blogger, life just gets out of hand sometimes. So here is what is happening - sunday and wednesday I went for walks, sunday I also played volleyball and now I have a very sore ankle, to top it off I have been diagnosed with gallstones, 2 to be exact. So with recovering and all I haven't done much but will keep you posted!!

Sorry for the delay, have not done much this week, seeing a physiotherapist, massage person, er doc/nurses, been busy week! I however went for a walk last night the first in a while but much needed even though I still was not feeling my best. Today I play a couple hrs of volleyball and then go for a walk around the lake - well that is my plan anyway - wish me luck!! Keep you posted!!

Wow monday is here and I did nothing sat/sun as I took Merv on a one night getaway sans kiddos for his birthday. That took up much of the weekend although we walked to our entertainment and dinner. The rest of sunday was taken up by football and visiting with friends. Monday has come and gone well most of it anyway. I did manage to do 100 situps in my day and that is it. So after the walk that was pretty much it. Friday came very early for all of us, my kids who normally sleep until 8pm were up in the sixes..yikes!! I did manage 170 sit ups although really trying for 250 but pretty impossible with a 2 yr old jumping on you, wouldn't give it up for anything! Tomorrow is another day, wishing you all sweet dreams! Playing catch up, it seems that is what I do everyday. To catch you up on Tuesday I managed a whole 50 situps, not much but with an active 2yr old what more can you do somedays. Wednesday I walked about an hour but no situps. You would think it would be easy to do it all in one day but I always seem to run out of time. Well today is Thursday very am (5:00 to be exact) and I have already been up for an hour with pain in my abdomen...again! I wonder is this one the bad one that I need to go in for - and I just keep wondering. Wish me luck at getting things done today, I'll keep you posted!! RT = 1750

Ok so I am lagging on the whole exercise thing but Monday is a new day and beginning of a new week! I started this gloomy day with... can you believe 270 situps Yay!!! After a very long weekend which involved yet another "attack" I want to get, and stay on track. Just another reason for getting healthy! So my plan is to clean the house and go for a walk. Update on this week - again where does the time go!! As it is, its 1030 at night on Thursday and I am just shaking my head. Well monday I had volleyball in which I hurt my ankle so no real walks this week poor kiddos!! Tuesday well I had my foot up pretty much all day/night. Wednesday we cleaned and I did laundry, and 70 situps yay for me - and went to bed. Although didn't sleep much as I had extreme pain in my abdomen. Went to doctor on thursday and was diagnosed with a gall bladder "attack". At that point I asked my doctor "does my body not know that I am trying to get healthy?", duh!! Come on system get it together. So know I have to work even harder so that means beefing it up - so lets go as Friday is another day waiting for me to be healthier! Sooooo where have I been, it has been a busy couple of days. Of course being busy things get put off - so no real report on the situps. We (me and the kiddos) met up with my sis and her family on friday out at a lake - very nice day overall. The kids played up a storm - we got to see D.D. in true dare devil action and had a nice bbq and smores, which I've never had before but with chocolate and graham crackers you can not go wrong. Merv drove out for dinner and then Nana took D.D. for the night. Sweeeet! Needless to say a bottle of wine later Merv had to drive home as I could not!! The next day Merv was gone most of it b/c his friend was moving. D.D. had her last gymnastics class for this session, went for breakfast with Nana and her friends - had a nap, read a book (which I'll tell you about shortly), had a very leisurely day on saturday. That brings me to Sunday - I am feeling horrible that I have not gone for a walk or pretty much anything but even now at 1020pm I finely decided it was time to get back on track. But about today we had breakfast, went and did some shopping, saw my younger bro (Uncle L.) went to Nana's for dinner & bath, did my sis's nails and put the oldest to bed. That's when I did my situps, a whole 70 since you are wondering. But it is a start - and I definitley plan on doing a whole lot more tomorrow - I will keep you posted. Back to the book for a minute, if you can believe it I read a whole book between yesterday and today (yes, a very nice weekend). It is called Undead and Unwed - a comical vampiric book which I quite enjoyed for a nice easy read. As I love to read and haven't been able to in a very long time this was a nice one to get back on track and I am looking forward to reading Undead and Unemployed - thank you Whitney!! So here we are Wednesday and this is what has happened. Yesterday I was cleaning the house and before I knew it it was dinner time. So I made dinner, cleaned up, had a friend over for a glass of wine and ended up with the worst headache in a long time - it put me to bed for the night. Today woke up and let the kiddos watch a movie while I took it easy, after breakfast we went for our walk (45mins) and did 90 situps. I want to ask the question does it count as double if your 2 yr old is sitting on your stomach as your trying to exercise. Also added a few pushups - need to tighten those pecs!! With that I will say - darn headache is back, looking forward to some motrin and keep it easy!! RT = 1290

So lately I haven't felt the motivation but knowing that I should be doing something have been walking. Yesterday I watched my nephew Little J., so I took him and D.D. and went for a walk, on the way home stopped by the park. About 2mins into playing he informs me that he has to use the potty, so back in the stroller we go and boot it home in time for him to use the potty. However the wonderful Auntie I am didn't realize he was missing the potty and poor guy still ended up getting his pants wet. Oh well, good for me to learn some things!! It was a great night as we finished with a bath and the 2 cousins jumping naked on the bed - oy vay! Today was busy as I visited my Uncle in the hospital - he had major surgery but is doing better, cleaned, and then took the kiddos for a walk. What was really nice was Merv came tonight on the walk and it was soooo much easier as I had company to keep me going, Thanks hun!! Anyway wish me luck on some situps and stay tuned!!

Alright everyone, send your mental motivation as I haven't done any situps but walked around the lake yesterday. It was a great walk with a friend and took about an hour. We both feel the need to buy a lottery ticket as a storm was a brewin but didn't get us, thank goodness as we had the kiddos with us, and it would have been nasty. On the bright side I think north of us got some rain! I'll check back in and let you know how your mental motivation was for me today, take care out there!

I am sitting here at 230pm and wondering how it got to be so late in the day. I missed doing anything yesterday which makes me sad and to get sad news on top well I wasn't motivated. We also ended up having people over last night which enables more excuses so I just won't go there except that it was a nice visit. With all those in my life who are having heart issues - well lets just hope it will give me the motivation I need, with that being said here I go on a walk. Wish me luck!

Hey there again, so instead of working at those situps last night I went out on a date with my sis, Auntie A. we'll call her. Love havin a sister who you can just go out with and be yourself (good or bad) and she loves you just the same, thank you!! Enjoyed some sushi and a chocolate fondue, maybe a glass of wine. Wow much needed, now only to get together for a girls night for some yummy nachos, must plan that!! Moving onto today, very busy so I didn't get to my situps until just mins ago but I did that last 100 and made it to 1000, YAY for me. That puts me ahead by oh 960! I may just be winning the bet. What a beautiful day today - had coffee with my sis and her family, filtered wine, cleaned, did laundry bathed D.D. and put to bed, did my situps and now I think there is a pillow with my name on it - may you all have one too!

So about those situps...I didn't complete them yesterday however 9am is here and I just did 110, that should put my total to 900. Only 100 more to reach a thousand, whew! So back to yesterday in my defence I walked w/the kiddos for 80mins in 27 degree weather - (not so smart) I think I gave myself heat stroke. I was very exhausted and had my kids to myself last night so the 3 of us hung out and watched movies, the night ended at about 830pm for all of us, wasn't that just nice of them. Mommy enjoyed a good sleep, may you all have wonderful dreams, and here is a note from D.D. as she just wants to type too. Take care out there!!

With my total of situps at 790 I want to push to that 1000, lets see what will happen. Remember that walk, well I managed to get Merv to motivate me and we went for a short walk, ran into some people we knew and that was nice. Overall the walk was about 30 mins but my kiddo's fell nicely to sleep and actually pretty much managed to stay that way YAY!! So now about those situps...

Here we are a thursday before the long weekend, and Merv has tomorrow off...or so he thinks LOL! Just kidding we are wanting to sell our house b/c we have out grown it so we decided that this weekend we are going to push to get the big things done so we can list. Yay!! My little girl is starting to give way to smaller naps so I really think my days go by without getting a bunch done..I think I need a maid, good luck! On the good side I did 60 situps during lunch time, now just for that walk. It will have to wait as everyone needs a bath and I am cooking and feeding right now, with that said I gotta run,chat with you soon.

What a productive day, although my schedule slightly altered which threw me off as D.D. napped very early today but guess what bedtime came nice and early too. So two things I want to do everyday I did today...you guessed it folks, I walked for 45 mins and yes of course it rained today as well I did 100 crunches!!! YAY!!! As for my back, I had a lovely massage, well as good as it gets so lets hope for the best. I think a few more visits will be required...Oh darn! LOL And as I am getting ready for bed guess who joined in with the situps, yup he sure was...way to go hun!! My running total is 730! Go team Million!!!
Sooooo last night I managed to do a couple situps, 60 to be exact which when your counting I guess is a good thing. I have posted on here that I wanted a running room jacket and guess what, Nanna (my mom) had one she wasn't using and brought it over what a nice surprise. Thanks Nanna, also my back has been very bad lately going for massage but still very sore so I asked PaPa (my dad) if he still had his ab roller and he did and brought it to me this weekend, thanks PaPa!!! So hopefully my back will be a bit more stable because taking Motrin everyday feels more like a habit than I want it to be..:( One more thing to add this morning and that is I am very tired (sleeping is hard when you have to get up because you hurt and not a baby waking you) and mentioned a coffee this morning to Merv, he called about 10 mins ago and asked if I wanted a coffee and is going to bring me one, THank you!! Hope to chat soon to add more to my total which is now 630!

So, it's monday night of the long weekend and would you believe I have not done one sit up...what have I got myself into??? Instead we had a birthday party for D.D. she was one excited camper, then did some work on the side and had a family bbq, then today it was picture day for all kids in the household and then I did some more work on the side. On the bright side I did get an ab roller (I think it will help my back) and booked a massage. It's only 930pm but the night is still young right, lets just see....

So it's friday night and I am exhausted, but sadly I miss my "weekends" as I am at home right now. With a very busy day yesterday and a pretty busy today as we are getting ready for a birthday celebration with family tomorrow you start to think I need 30 hours in a day not 24. However the cutest thing happened tonight, as I have been trying to do my situps everyday I again tried to do them tonight. Easy you would think except both my kiddo's are still awake. So Merv has the Little Man which is wonderful and I put on a movie for D.D. (honestly one of the only ways I get anything done) you think no problem until I am 20 situps in and from the bed bounces my princess. Yes she leaped from the bed directly onto me, okay so I'm exaggerating a little as a 2 yr old can't quite leap but from the bed she decended down onto mummy. Can I tell you how easy it is to complete a situp with a 2 yr old laying on your stomach. Needless to say I only did 40 tonight LOL!!! The happyness in my day!! Oh and sorry for any typos as D.D. is helping my type my blog tonight, sorry folks got to run as my precious jewel requires my attention. Great day all. From pancakes to a walk, to the park, to making cupcakes with D.D., to chucky cheese, to eating cupcakes to playing with a new toy with my nephew Little J. as my sis calls him, to crashing by 915pm. With both kids down I managed to do my situps and let me tell you 120 was my count tonight. Making up for lost days so my total is now 530!!! On the down side granny isn't feeling her best, wishing Merv the best with his mom!! Since my kiddos are asleep I am going to take the time to get some myself, wishing everyone a very peaceful sleep tonight!!
Sooooo nothing yesterday. Merv has been home sick and yersterday I started to feel crummy. Today however I will do my best to make it happen. Since it is a special day in our house as my baby turns 2 today, my day is scheduled to her. That being said I think she understands somewhat that it is her day and so she is dictating what she wants...typical 2yr old already. Here is wishing naptime comes quickly and lasts awhile!!

As hubby still not well and a whole schwack load of stuff to do I wonder if I will ever keep up. Along with that debating nanny vs home daycare as childcare impossible to find that is good and I don't even have to go back to work anytime soon. However managed to do 90 situps today that makes my total 410 and Merv...still zero. Although he is looking more at the blog so maybe we will here from him soon. Happy tuesday all!!
Ok so I missed yesterday. On my behalf I had very little sleep that night so I had to keep moving through the day otherwise sleep would take over. Merv stayed home to help but ended up being more sick than I was tired. On the plus side I took the munchkins for an hour walk/play in 30degree weather, that was a hot one!! Then I played beach volleyball and could barely fuction when I got home. After a very brief shower/bath (D.D. never lets me shower solo) got the kiddos to bed, had a quick snack (yummuy popcorn, thanks Merv) and sleep took me quickly...thank the heavens. So my little man is 12 weeks old and slept for 8 hrs last night, thats right from 10pm last night to 6am this morning, I feel truly blessed, finally rested. Let us see what today will bring!!

So here are my excuses for not blogging/doing my situps yesterday... D.D. had gymnastics, we went to a friends cabin for the afternoon/evening, had to put the kiddos to bed, was tired etc. etc. Gosh how life gets busy! So today after coffee w/ my sister & her family I got home in time to put the kiddos down for a nap. And as I was very tired I thought about passing on the situps, but be proud because I pushed through my laziness and did 100 situps. Now as rules haven`t been set I have decided to do whatever situps I want, either side situps or crunches or reverse situps it is up to what I desire. Must go as very distracted by D.D. playing a xylaphone and Little man not enjoying the music - happy sunday to all!!

So again it is noon and I am wondering where my day has gone. If you haven't figured it out I am not at work right now and miss the adult conversation. Today however I had a friend over with her 1yr old - and as D.D. is just turning 2 we are learning about sharing or at least trying. I have managed to get my situps done while D.D. is eating lunch and Little Man is sleeping. Surprising I moved up to 100 even though it takes my breath away I figure that is the minimum I can do otherwise it will take me forever to get them done. My total is now 220 and Merv...zero. That's right he hasn't started although he works during the day and evenings are very busy. He has a physio appt today so maybe he will start there???? hmmm, any bets? :) My other goal is to walk 3 times a week and so far only once have I gone. It rained all afternoon yesterday and is supposed to continue today. As I have no rain shield for the kids I have yet to go again. I must get one for a double stroller plus a rain jacket for myself. I would really like one of the "running room" jackets but on a salary of zero it probably won't happen unless it is really cheap. I need to go out this afternoon and am wondering does walking around a store count as exercise?? Here's to wishing!! Hope you all have a wonderful sunny day!!

Alright, so I did 60 more situps today as yesterday I did zero. I thought I would give Merv a day to catch up as he had the family stuff going on. He had 2 hours at home by himself to get started...but didn't and since this is a race I guess he will just have to start when he is ready but I am not waiting. He did weigh himself so I know where he started but I will let him post his weight if he wants, that is his choice not mine. I find it very hard in a day with my Little Man and DD to get anything done and when you get 3 hours of sleep at night it doesn't make it very easy to get the energy to exercise... but that is my new mission. My thoughts are I am going to try to go for a walk with kiddos in stroller at least 3 times per wk. Sounds easy but its already 1pm and I am exhausted and not sure what happened to my morning. And let me tell you 650am is tooo early for me, especially when sleep didn't happen until after 1am this morning. So wish me luck with my new challenge, you know because apparently a million situps is just not enough!!!

So I forgot yesterday to mentioned that I went for a very lovely 45 min walk, oh and did I mention I am out of shape. LOL I came home with one very nice blister on the back of my heel and those shoes are not new!! So after finding out everything is okay with Merv's mom aka Granny I decided to pop the question again....."are you really up for this challenge?" He said yes, so here we are again, just waiting for him to get started. I am going out tonight and told him he would have about an hour tonight to get working (let's just see what happens I think). So as I am starting my journey I have decided to give up my secret addiction...diet cola, I gave my last one away while we had visitors and I have decided not to purchase any more cans. I will also do my best to not order diet cola while I am out at a restaurant, and let me tell you folks this is going to be a hard task as my favorite drink is rye with diet cola...sniff, sniff. Maybe I will just have to drink something else...any suggestions??

Well today I have started my situps. After about 60 my stomache was burning...holy cow did I forget about ab muscles!!! This is going to be a long journey!! That is okay it is one I want to take. I feel bad for Merv as there has been some family matters he has needed to deal with I don't think he is fully able to focus on our challenge...hopefully soon!

This is a sad day my friends, as I have been weighed and measured - yuck!! Unfortunately not something I want to share but will because in the end they are just numbers and when I am done they will be different.....so here it is: my weight is 203.2 and my hips measured at 48 with my waist at 39 inches. Now that we all know where I am at lets get this show on the road!! You are probably wondering about Merv, well he had daddy duty tonight as I play volleyball so Merv will just have to check in with us later. Hope to see you again soon.
Race to a million you must be wondering what I am talking about, a race to a million sit ups. Who would do that....ME and my husband (who let us be honest must think I am crazy). First let me say hello, my name is Andrea and my husband is Merv. As we are both a little on the "cheerfully chubby" side we were talking about exercise one day and I asked Merv how long would it take to get to a million situps if we did 100 per day, he said 10,000 days or 23 years...REALLY I don't have 23 years to get fit, we have 2 kiddos D.D. (aka destructive daredevil) who is a 2year old girl who knows what she wants and Little Man who is 12 weeks and is quite quiet in comparison to his sister. I need energy - which I don't always have and a lot of patience which I continually pray for. So I then asked "what about 1,000 situps a day ?" which turns out to be 1,000 days or just under 3 years. I challenged Merv at that point and said lets race to a million - we both need it and so he said sure! So here it is we are going to weigh, measure (ourselves) no need to get anybody else in this and it will be on the honour code - no cheating, we will race to a million. I think it will only be fair to give numbers as unhappy about them as we are and that way everyone will know how far we will have come from our start. We have yet to weigh and measure ourselves and I think it fair we do it together from one point to the end so look for our future post (and possibly pictures if I can manage to figure it out). Our terms are not yet set for what the "winner" will get and as I think at the end we will both be winners with a healthier body and hopefully lifestyle it will have to be something we both enjoy. So with that being said look forward to a future post with and exciting yet scary start to the next "3" years!!
